Iraq oil exports to Ceyhan halted since Saturday

Tuesday, March 24, 2009 11:50 GMT
A naval source affirmed that Iraqi oil exports from Ceyhan Turkish port were halted on Saturday because of the bad weather conditions. The same source added that 3 ships are waiting to get the permission to enter the port and start loading. Oil flows thru pipelines normally and pumping rate was of 432000 oil barrels per day before authorities’ prevented ships from anchoring.

To that, oil upcoming contracts increased more than a dollar, surpassing $53 per barrel as stock markets rose. In the meantime, world markets look forward to see what would be the repercussions of the US economic policy.
