Bids to develop Iraq’s Qurna oilfield

France's Total and a consortium led by China's CNPC have submitted revised bids to develop Iraq's West Qurna oilfield, said Abdul-Mahdy al-Ameedi, deputy director of Iraq's Petroleum Contracts and Licensing Directorate. The winner of the service contract would be announced within two weeks, he uttered. Iraqi officials would meet with CNPC and Total in the coming days, al-Ameedi added.
On the other hand, Eni, Italian oil and gas group, Chief Executive Paolo Scaroni said the company is unlikely to bid for the Nassiriyah oil field in Iraq adding that it didn’t take a final decision in this regard yet.
