Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki arrives on Monday to Washington heading a senior governmental delegation to take part in the investment conference with the participation of more than 800 Arab and foreign companies. The delegation accompanying Al Maliki includes ministers of Foreign affairs, Finances, Oil, Electricity and head of the national commission for investment as well as a number of lawmakers and investors.
Iraqi Prime Minister will meet with US President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and White House officials to discuss the latest political and security development in the country as well as upcoming elections and enhancing the bilateral strategic agreement.
Prime Minister’s advisor Ali Al Moussawi told Al Hayat Newspaper that Al Maliki is visiting Washington to attend the investment conference due on October 20-21 with the participation of more than 800 companies in addition to Iraqi and foreign investors.
Al Maliki’s agenda does not include a meeting with UN Chief Ban Ki Moon to discuss August bombings and the investigation commission, Al Moussawi said.
