Parliament discusses Kirkuk proposal

Iraqi Parliament is due to discuss today the proposal of the political council for national security to hold parliamentary elections on time and adopt the open list in addition to dividing Kirkuk into two electoral districts and adopting the 2004 voters’ register.
Voters figuring in the 2004 register will cast their ballot in the first district while voters registered starting 2004 till present will vote in the second district, a close source to the national security political council told Alsumaria News.
Numbers of voters in the second district is estimated around 375 000 people affirming that this proposal has been approved by Arab, Kurdish and Turkmen parties, the source added.
