During a dinner in the honor of visiting Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, French President Nicolas Sarkozy affirmed on Monday night that France is fully committed to the efforts of the International Community in helping Iraq regain its sovereignty and contribute to its reconstruction.
Iraq is rising anew and opening onto the international community while the Iraqi people are regaining control of its destiny, Sarkozy said.
Violence is decreasing although terrorists are still striking, yet, they will fail, he affirmed.
French President said he was confident about the future of the new federal and democratic Iraq which respects diversity and multiplicity.
President Sarkozy promised to visit Iraq saying that we shall visit Baghdad to show to the world that Baghdad deserves a chance to rise.
