The former United Nations Chief Weapons inspector in Iraq, Hans Blix, said part of the testimony given by former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw to the Iraq inquiry, was "wrong". Blix told the BBC he was puzzled by some of Straw's testimony at the Chilcot inquiry in January, adding that “he is wrong on these things”.
Straw denied on Monday he had ignored legal advice that the 2003 invasion of Iraq would be illegal without specific U.N. authorization.
The advice from top lawyers at the Foreign Office had been "contradictory" and the final decision on the legality of war lay with the Attorney General, Straw added.
