Israeli President Shimon Peres urged Brazil to challenge Iran's threats during the first day of his visit to Brazil. While Israel did not see the Iranian people as an enemy, "we cannot ignore that this government (of Ahmadinejad) is building nuclear weapons and at the same time calls for the destruction of the state of Israel," Peres said in a speech before Brazilian lawmakers. Israeli President uttered that the Israeli government is ready to make hard compromises in order to step forward in establishing a Palestinian state that lives in peace beside Israel.
