Yemeni tribesmen free abducted Japanese engineer

In Yemen, a Japanese engineer abducted by Yemeni tribesmen on the 15th of the current month was released Monday night, said Sanaa Governor Numan Dwaid. The hostage is currently with tribesmen who negotiated in order to release him. Dwaid said that the Japanese hostage Takeo Mashimo was released upon a promise from the Yemeni authorities to follow up the issue of a relative of the kidnappers arrested by the Yemeni authorities since 2 years without trial. The date in which the hostage will be handed over to the Yemeni authorities was not determined. A security official said that the Islamist, tribesmen asked to release is a dangerous militant who participated in Iraq war and in Lebanon’s Nahr Al Bared war adding that freeing him is not easy.
