Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki hailed the election law’s passage as a major achievement of the democratic experience and the political process.
Holding elections on time following an open list is a historic victory of the will of the people, Al Maliki said.
Iraqi Vice President Tarek Al Hashemi congratulated Iraqis for passing the elections’ law though he showed reservation over any attempt to seize votes of Iraqi immigrants, he said.
The compromise over Kirkuk issue has been welcomed by different parties.
Kurdistan Alliance MP Abdul Bari Zebari congratulated Iraqis in general and Kurds in particular for the achievement of passing the law and ascertaining elections in Kirkuk on time, he said.
