US Forces withdrawal from Iraq and US-Iraqi relations in the wake of the pullout and parliamentary elections were discussed in the White House as Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki and US Vice President Joe Biden met. The meeting evoked the Investment Conference which Iraqi Prime Minister is attending in Washington. US Vice President called to hold transparent elections in Iraq and work on removing all hindrances mainly regarding Kirkuk issue. Biden conveyed US support to Iraq’s Government efforts in ascertaining security and achieving stability around Iraq. He reiterated as well US support to remove Iraq from UN Charter Chapter VII stressing the necessity to resolve Iraqi-Kuwaiti pending issues through talks. Al Maliki affirmed that Iraqis are heading towards elections while deploying utmost efforts to ensure a successful electoral process and avert any problem among Kirkuk components. Iraqi Prime Minister warned against regional interferences in elections in an attempt to confuse the political process noting that interferences have manifested financially, in the media and by the means of arms.
