In Cairo, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed after a meeting with the Egyptian President Hossni Mubarak that he will issue a Presidential decree in order to hold the Palestinian Presidential and Legislative elections next December. However, Abbas stressed that reconciliation door with Hamas is not closed yet. Palestinian President uttered that Hamas’ stalling over the agreement signature issue taking Goldstone’s report as a pretext surprised him. He also added that Hamas kept on placing many reservations in order to flee the signature. The Palestinian authority refuses to make any amendment to the Egyptian proposal and the ball is now in Hamas’ field, Palestinian President added. In the meantime, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to lead his people towards peace with Israel and to say to his nation that it is time to put an end for this conflict once and forever. Peace with our Palestinian neighbors is possible but it needs a strong leadership and great courage from both sides, Netanyahu told an international conference in Jerusalem.
