Iraqi authorities released Sheikh Qais Al Khezali, leader of Asaib Al Haq group, believed to be behind the abduction of five Britons in Iraq in 2007. Al Khezali is the only arrest released presently while Asaib Al Haq group reached an agreement with Iraqi and US authorities to release around 400 arrests from the group within the coming days, Asaib Al Haq source said. The fifth British hostage was handed to Iraqi authorities on Tuesday, Asaib Al Haq sources said. The handover coincided with the release of Sheikh Qais Al Khezali, the sources added. They declined to confirm whether British hostage Alan McMenemy is dead or alive. British Embassy spokesman in Baghdad said he is not aware of the handover.
