French right was humbled by the leftist opposition mainly the socialist and green parties and that during the first-round vote of the regional elections which took place on Sunday. Opposition parties are expected to achieve a big victory during the second-round next Sunday. During the second-round vote the socialist party would be able to rely on its alliance with the greens and radical left while rightists won’t have any ally. Commenting these results French Premier Francois Fillon said in a journalistic statement that the turnout is very low and does not help to get results on the national level. Unlike speculations the elections’ results are still open to all possibilities he said.
