The so-called Islamic State of Iraq claimed responsibility for the series of attacks that targeted security headquarters and checkpoints in 10 Iraqi cities on Wednesday. The attacks killed more than 50 people and wounded nearly 300 others. The group’s statement announced that the coordinated operations upon the directives of Sheikh Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi were aimed to target most Iraqi regions.
