Basra Operations Command denied US Army statements reporting that Basra International Airport was subject on Monday to a missile attack and closed off. Iraqi Security Forces thwarted an attempt to strike the airport using 9 Katyusha missiles, the Command said. An Iraqi Army Force managed to seize 9 Katyusha missiles set to explode targeting the airport which is now under heavy security measures, Basra Operations Chief Major General Mohammed Jawad Hawidi told Alsumaria News.
