Restrictions on Iraqi reporters work have become a pattern. At first, Iraqi reporters and journalists were bound by a number of restrictions in public places, now they are subject to new measures inside State institutions including the Parliament. Reporters and journalists have now to take permissions from Parliament’s media directorate before interviewing lawmakers. The new measure was labeled necessary for security measures while reporters and journalists are already subject to more than four searches before entering the Parliament. Iraqi reporters denounced these new measures. Some called to boycott parliamentary sessions.
