Gunmen wearing military uniforms killed two Iraqi policemen and a Kurdish security force member in an ambush on Thursday night near Wana District, northern Mosul. In Baghdad, two Iraqi soldiers were killed in a bombing targeting their patrol on the main road in Al Youssifiya region, a source told Alsumaria. Iraqi official sources reported on Friday that June death toll has increased to 271 killed regarded as the highest since early 2011. 155 civilians, 77 policemen and 39 soldiers were killed in attacks last month, the Health, Defense and Interior Ministries reported.
