Unknown gunmen killed two citizens in Al Saadun Street while others assassinated South Scholars group candidate Sheikh Abdullah Adnan Al Tamimi in Mahijran region in Abu Al Khusaib District in Basra. In Mosul, gunmen opened fire on a policeman in front of his house in Al Nabi Younes District in central Fardou city. Another policeman was killed in a bomb explosion targeting a patrol in Al Maamoun region in southern Mosul. Moreover, circulation police Brigadier Samir Al Waili escaped a blast targeting his patrol while passing in Al Nahda region while two of his bodyguards and two civilians were wounded. In a separate incident, Civil Defense Major Taha Khudair was wounded in a roadside bomb explosion while he was heading to work in Al Yarmouk District in Baghdad.
