Assad: Syrian, Iranian, Turkish and Iraqi economies shall round out

Tuesday, May 19, 2009 12:26 GMT
Syrian president Bashar Al Assad said at the opening of the Syrian Turkish forum that there is a significant cooperation between turkey and Iraq and added that Turkey’s relations with Syria and Iran are boosting. Assad stressed that it is important for these 4 countries to round out on the economic level. Assad added in the presence of his Turkish counterpart Abdallah Gul that the visit of Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Al Otari to Iraq aimed at creating a link between Um Qasr port in Iraq and the gulf and Syrian ports. Assad said that the visit of the Turkish president to Damascus is not according to protocol but to show political support. Assad stressed that the Syrian Turkish relation is far beyond protocols.
