Takwin: a unique television line
Alsumaria TV believes that by drawing attention to plastic arts, one values the history of this art and the pioneers thereof. For this reason it produced “Takwin” show to hilight plastic arts and artists’ activities. This program is presented and prepared by Hassan Abdul Hamid. Hence, our newspaper met the latter and came with this interview.
Last year Alsumaria started a unique show entitled Takwin, idea of artist Jassem Al Lami, presented and prepared by Hassan Abdul Hamid. Each episode sheds the lights on an exceptional Iraqi artistic endeavor and tries to render its fine points with various methods and different approaches. Presenter Hassan Abdul Hamid, Director Asaad Al Hilali and Editor Yakzan Mohammad Hassan filmed 15 episodes and introduced important artists such as Sitar Lukman, Abdul Karim Khalil, Mahdi Al Assadi, Samira Abdul Wahab, Salem Al Dabbagh, Saad Al Kassab and many other artists belonging to different generations and sundry fields of plastic arts. Takwin doesn’t bank on interviews, Hassan said. However, it depends on critiques and aims to constitute a documentary about the fine points and the matchlessness of each and every Iraqi artistic endeavor. Nevertheless, plastic artists, criticizers and lovers cherished the program and asked to change its broadcast time to peak timing.
As to the preparation and the presentation of the program, presenter Hassan Abdul Hamid who only appears at the beginning and the end of each episode, said that he tries to give the artist a chance thru appraising means in order to show the depth of the artistic endeavor. And at the end of every episode the guest signs on a white board that encloses the signatures of all artists appearing in the program. To that, Hassan Abdul Hamid praised the efforts of Director Asaad Al Hilali for his remarkable directing skills. Moreover, he acclaimed the efforts of Jassem Al Lami, Alsumaria Manager, who produces this program in a very professional way.
Finally, Hassan concluded the interview uttering that the program’s team bids to shoot new episodes covering renowned Iraqi artists outside Iraq.
