Bit by bit dusk swept through India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Burma and China crossing Shoku Japanese Islands. The longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century was visible along a roughly 15 000 km of latitude and 258 km of longitude. The eclipse lasted up to 6minutes 93 seconds over a low populated area in the Pacific Ocean, a record that will not be beaten until 2132.
Darkness started to overcome South-West China at 9 o’clock at the local time, ending in a total eclipse firstly seen in Sichuan province.
In Shangai, tourists who came to observe this phenomenon were disappointed by cloudy weather which affected the 5 minutes eclipse’s net view.
Eclipse was shorter in India which stood in the shade of the moon for 3 to 4 minutes.
According to space scientists, over two billion persons could see this “major” and unique eclipse in the humanity history.
