Turkish President Abdullah Gul announced that he will visit Iraq soon upon the official invitation of his counterpart Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and in support to this neighboring country which is going through a major turn point. However, the Turkish President did not specify the date of his visit. Turkish newspapers affirmed that the invitation was made during a meeting between the Turkish and Iraqi Presidents in New York on the sidelines of their participation in the 63d session of the United Nations General Assembly.
