Did Grand Ayatollah Ali Al Sistani decide about the open list? The answer is not certain especially that the ratification of a new electoral law is stumbled and discussions thereof are stalling. The present situation casts doubts on the Parliament ratifying a new law up to Iraqis’ aspirations. Al Sadrist Bloc firmly rejected the closed list system which it views as a deception to the people and a bereavement of democracy. The bloc added that it would withdraw from the voting session to cause a lack of quorum and hinder the adoption of a closed list system. For more details, click on play movie.
