Four people were killed including a police officer in separate attacks in Iraq. Unknown gunmen assassinated Major Zanoun Balou in Al Hadbaa District in Mosul, while on his way to work. Balou is a tribal affairs official in Nineveh Province. In Al Karma, southern Falluja, a policeman was killed and four others were wounded in a suicide bombing targeting a police patrol. A person was killed and ten others were wounded in a bomb explosion inside a popular restaurant in Al Bayaa region, Baghdad. Another person was killed and eight others wounded in a bomb explosion inside a civilian bus on the main road, in Al Shaab region. In Kirkuk, head of criminal investigation office Major Amer Naji escaped assassination when a bomb planted to his car detonated in Ghanata District wounding one of his security guards.
