Syrian President Bashar al-Assad insisted on Thursday that Damascus must review a partnership agreement with the European Union, Assad told a news conference after talks with visiting Finnish President Tarja Halonen. Assad called Europe to take up its role in peace process saying that time does not serve the peace process, that’s why taking fast steps is necessary, Assad said. To reach peace we need an Israeli partner in order to be able to achieve an effective peace agreement that. The Finnish President arrived to Damascus on Wednesday night in the framework of an official 3 days visit during which she talks over bilateral relations and means to develop the same on the regional and international level.
