An official in Iraq Ministry of Oil said that Exxon Mobil led bid for West Qurna Phase One will sign a final contract with Iraq Oil Ministry in order to develop the first phase of West Qurna Oil Field the reserves of which are estimated to be 8.7 billion barrels and that on January 25. To that, Malaysia\'s Petronas and Japan Petroleum Exploration Co (Japex) signed a final contract for the smaller Gharaf oilfield. Japex and Petronas had won the deal after a tight competition during a round of bids held last December.
