Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki’s list is slightly ahead, according to partial results of Iraq Parliamentary elections published on Friday at night. State of Law Coalition is taking so far pole position in three southern provinces while Al Iraqiya List is first in Diayala and Salahuddin. In Muthanna, State of Law Coalition came first, Iraqi National Alliance second, Iraq Unity Coalition third and Al Iraqiya fourth, IHEC announced on Friday. IHEC earlier results reported State of Law Coalition first in Babel and Najaf followed by Iraqi National Alliance and Al Iraqiya consequently. Partial results in Missan showed Iraqi National Alliance ahead of State of Law Coalition and Al Iraqiya, the electoral committee reported after counting 23% of votes. Kurdistan Alliance is first in Erbil, the committee added. Partial results have been issued so far in seven provinces including four southern provinces, two central provinces and Erbil in the north. Preliminary results in six provinces showed that the State of Law Coalition is slightly ahead of Iraqi National Alliance with a difference of 20 000 votes out of 340 000 votes that have been counted so far for both lists. Results might stay close till votes of major provinces like Baghdad are counted. IHEC member Saad Al Rawi told Alsumaria that the Commission will start announcing on Saturday partial results in Baghdad while count of out-of-country votes has started in 10 countries, Al Rawi added.
