Basra governor Sheltag Abboud said that a plan has been established this year in order to be implemented during the current year. The plan aims at reviving tourism sector in Basra, boosting religious tourism, developing hotels sector and rehabilitating Sinbad isle. Abboud stressed that the plan which is hoped to be implemented during the current year concentrates on boosting religious tourism thru building a huge mosque near That of Imam Ali and to allocate a nearby land to build a hotel and malls. The importance of Imam Ali mosque is that it was the second Islamic mosque to be built after Al Nabawi Mosque.
