Al Nakhil Commission Director General Kamel Makhlaf said that Iraq produces yearly about 400000 tones of dates a part of which is exported thru Iraqi state company for dates processing and exports or thru local traders. However, a small quantity is sold in the local market; he added stressing that a project will be issued in order to support dates’ agriculture with a rate of 50%, in the next few days thru providing means to establish dates’ fields. A number of Cement manufacture workers in Fallujah called the Ministry of Industry and Minerals to cancel the manufacture’s investment project because it might bring in negative repercussions on hundreds of employees that might lose their jobs.
