On the sidelines of his participation in the Socialist International Conference in Paris, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani urged France not to encourage Iraqi Christians to leave their country by granting them asylum. If Christians fail to live in Baghdad, they are most welcome in Kurdistan, he said. Paris has offered treatment for a number of Iraqi wounded from the latest church attack in Baghdad.
