Al Qaeda in Iraq is targeting Christians in their homes after Iraqi authorities increased protection around the minority group's churches, said Lieutenant General Robert Cone, the U.S. deputy commanding general for operations in Iraq. "Al Qaeda has shifted to try and go after the Christians where they live," Cone told Reuters. Iraqi security forces were concerned and had increased protection for Christians, Cone added. Commenting on the return of cleric Moqtada Al Sadr to Iraq, Lieutenant General Robert Cone said: "I believe that he's here based on political purpose and that's the appropriate way to participate in the political process”.
