Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Baghdad calling to improve services in the country, eradicate unemployment and unveil corruption. Around 3000 people rallied in Al Tahrir Square denouncing the shortcoming of the government. Number of protesters is increasing despite curfew imposed inside Baghdad, Alsumaria News reporter said. Security forces are massed up around the square while police and army patrols are extensively deployed. Moreover, helicopters are hovering above, Alsumaria reporter added. To prevent rallies from sweeping into the green zone, security forces closed off Al Jumhuriya Bridge leading to the green zone using concrete barriers, our reporter said.
