Iraq Ministry of Transportation said on Wednesday that Bahraini Security Forces attacked and knocked the crew of an Iraqi mercantile ship at Bahrain port and stressed that the attack was unjustified. “Bahraini Security Forces attacked the crew of Al Nasser ship and knocked its crew when it was in a Bahraini port during a regular commercial trip between Manama and Dubai”, Iraq Minister of Transportation Media Consultant told Alsumarianews. The demonstrations that took place in Bahrain caused a firestorm in Iraq as Iraq Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki warned on March 26 from sectarian tension in the region as troops from Peninsula Shield force entered Bahrain. He then stressed that the issue became a Sunnite-Shiite matter and called to prevent interfering in the little kingdom’s affairs. “Bringing in troops known to be as Sunnite to support the Sunnite government in Bahrain makes the situation look as if there is a Sunnite mobilization against Shiites,” Maliki added.
