Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barazani called Baghdad government to sign a new agreement with Washington to keep the US troops in Iraq in order to prevent a civil and sectarian war and to ward off any foreign interference. During a conference for Kurdistan Region Representatives abroad, held in Irbil, Barazani stressed that Iraq still needs the US presence. During bilateral meetings all the political parties admit this fact, but when they stand to make addresses they utter other stances and up the ant against each other, he added. The head of the region said that Iraq needs the presence of the US forces in it under any title because security forces and army are not ready to protect the security of the country. As for the internal affairs, Barazani said that the central government is taking unilateral decisions. A Kurdish delegation headed by the region Premier Barham Saleh will head to Baghdad soon in order to settle pending issues notably article 140 of the constitution, he added.
