Iraqi Minister of women\'s affairs Nawal Al Samarrai resigned in protest to limited authorities she is granted, which does not cope with the needs of Iraqi women, she says. In an interview with Reuters, Al Samirrai explained that she has resigned as a Minister of women’s affairs because she was unable to serve Iraq women from her position since her status is secretary of state and not a full minister, thus the State Ministry does not enjoy the prerogatives of a real ministry. She added that the ministry she works in is a simple consultancy office inside the green zone.
