In the wake of news reports by newspapers and local Kurdish sites on Turkish troops massing up near the borders with Iraq while expectations point out to a probable Turkish attack against Kurdistan Workers Party positions in Kurdistan, the region’s guard forces spokesman Jibar Yawer denied any masses on the borders with Turkey dismissing threats against the region. He added that reports pointing out to a probable military attack are just media analysis. In a statement to Al Hayat Newspaper, Yawer clarified that Peshmerga Forces have not received any confirmation from security and military stations on the borders about Turkish military masses. He noted that any military action inside Turkish territories is out of our concern as Turkey is free to use its territories. Yawer explained that Turkish forces might be redeploying their troops in areas near borders, which is a routine action every Spring Season. As for news on a probable Turkish attack, Yawer clarified that such reports are untrue and are just military analysis. He added that any attack outside Turkish territories is declared ahead by the government and forces command while Ankara informs its US allies and the Iraqi Government about any operation.
