Paris and Baghdad sealed a contract for the sale of 24 military helicopters to Iraq for the Eurocopter EC 635s, its first arms deal with Baghdad since 1990, French Defense Minister Herve Morin and his Iraqi counterpart Abdul Qader Al Ubaidi announced. French sources reported that the deal is worth 360 million euros. The deal includes as well the purchase of six Gazelle helicopters that would be delivered at the end of the current year. Both ministers signed an understanding memorandum that regulates armament and training of the Iraqi Army.
