As US Forces are preparing to withdraw from Iraqi cities, lights are shed on a region that has not been the main target, yet, consequent security incidents along with political crisis have urged the reconsideration of the situation in Kirkuk. In details, seven people were killed including six policemen and 14 others were wounded in a suicide bombing targeting an emergency police patrol in southern Kirkuk, security sources reported. Major Salam Zankana reported that a suicide bomber driving a mini bus blew himself up targeting an emergency patrol on Baghdad road in southern Kirkuk. In a separate incident, two people including a child were killed in a car bomb explosion on Monday night near a mosque in eastern Kirkuk.
